There is a world we do not pay attention to and, consequently, we do not know. It is an amazing and stunning world. We need not travel to another country to find it. In fact, Argentina has very rich in flora and fauna that go unnoticed for most people. That is why this article intends to show our readers those minute animals through the work of a curious, patient, dexterous and renowned photographer.

Cynthia Bandurek says that “if we stopped at least for a while to observe the smallest living things in the world, we would discover how amazing their shapes, structures and behaviors are and we would respect them”

Her passion and special sensitivity to capture nature have always been reflected on her artistic expressions, both her paintings and photographs. “I´ve always felt attracted to nature. In fact at the age of eight, I spent hours painting animals.” When we ask her how much time she needs to get a good picture, the artist explains that: “It depends. I sometimes get good pictures after only one shot and there is no other opportunity since the animal disappears. On other occasions, I can take several shots. When dealing with nature, however, you must take advantage of the opportunities since what you want to capture usually lasts just a couple of seconds. The camera I use is a Canon t2i with canon 100mm lens, Raynox dcr250 lenses, Canon 430 flash, sigma 70-300, and Canon 18-55 lenses”

Bandurek was born in Buenos Aires in 1977. Her early attraction to nature led her to study ecology and then to become a Naturalist. Thus, she got the knowledge to approach nature. At present, encouraged by her love for nature and her concern for the environment, she participates in preservation projects and works in the “Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales Bernardino Rivadavia” (Bernardino Rivadavia Argentine Museum of Natural Sciences). Apart from photography and paintings, sports have also been important in her life. In fact, she has been practice synchronized swimming and artistic gym since she was six years old. Although she stills practices the former at competitive level, she practice acrobatics as a hobby.
